On 29 July 2019, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) released its judgement on its latest data protection legislation court case involving the Facebook Like button which is incorporated on a third party website. Such social plug-ins allow the transfer of personal data of website visitors, such as their IP address or browser.

Zoals al aangekondigd in onze nieuwsbrief van 29 april 2019, werd door de Wet van 4 april 2019 (gepubliceerd in het Belgisch Staatsblad op 24 mei 2019) een significante wijziging goedgekeurd aan Boek VI van het Wetboek Economisch Recht, waarbij de wetgever revolutionaire beperkingen invoert aan de bestaande contractsvrijheid tussen ondernemingen. De mosterd werd vooral gehaald bij de regels inzake consumentenbescherming.
