New thresholds entering into force on 01/01/18 on procedures for awarding public contracts
As from the first of January 2018 the European Commission changes the European thresholds when applying the procedures for awarding of public contracts. The new thresholds need to be considered as VAT exclusive.
1. The award of contracts of works
New threshold: 5.548.000,- EUR for contracts of works in the classic sector, specific sector, defense and security sector.
2. The award of contracts of supplies and services
New threshold: 144.000,- EUR for contracts of supplies and services in the classic sector (central governments).
New threshold: 221.000,- EUR for contracts of supplies and services in the classic sector (decentralized governments, regions, local sector).
New threshold: 443.000,- EUR for contracts of supplies and services in the specific sector. (e.g. utilities, gas, electricity).
New threshold: 443.000,- EUR for contracts of supplies and services in the defense and security sector.
3. The award of works or concessions for services
New threshold: 5.548.000,- EUR for works or concessions for services.
